Video: A missed opportunity to prevent youth homelessness

Fri, 05/22/2015 - 12:55 -- admin

HomelessLink published this film together with their 2014 annual Young & Homeless research, looking at the changing state of issues facing and provision offered to young people who become homeless in England. The film combines the words of the young people they interviewed with some of the facts and statistics uncovered in the report such as: -

  • 52% of those seeking help with homelessness are under 25.
  • Councils are preventing homelessness amongst young people in just 19% of cases.
  • Half of those living in homelessness services are under 25, at an average cost of at least £3,876 per case.
